Football, etc. & Amy Kasio

One's a band, one's a musician, both are pretty awesome. Football, etc. hails from Austin, TX & creates a wonderful indie-emo. They bear resemblance to Pohgoh, Jejune, and Empire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate). Fun thing about them? Two women, one guy-- uncommon for this genre. Anyways, they're pretty solid. Amy Kasio started her journey in Ohio, but has relocated to Portland, Oregon. She had her start on just a Casio keyboard, but recently incorporates other music programs & instruments. She blends electro, punk, riot grrl, and a bunch of other blanket term bullshit. She's great, 'sbout it.

So this is where I tell you that the files available aren't full albums. They're little snippets, because I cannot find releases. I'll have to buy them. SO SHOULD YOU! :D

Also, check out their MySpace's.

The Tiger Lillies

The Tiger Lillies have been around since 1989. They're based in England, and are known for their decadent live shows, and festive music. They fuse dark cabaret, folk, and circus punk. I've known about these guys for about 5 years now, but I've recently acquired a decent collection of their music. They have 25 major releases, so.. it's quite an extensive library.
Anyways, their dark themes, funny lyrics, and awkward stage persona's make The Tiger Lillies an amazing force in music. Even if you don't like these men it's really easy to respect what they do.

The bands lineup has been the same since its formation, and each band members plays a wide arrange of various instruments. Martyn Jacques tackles lead vocals, accordion, piano, ukulele, banjolele; Adrian Huge on the drums, percussions, and backup vocals; and Adrian Stout for the double bass, musical saw, and backing vocals.

What Are They Up To?
Touring, promoting, and more touring.
They've recently released their album, "Freakshow" to a waiting audience.

Reggie Watts

Reggie Watts is fucking incredible. He's hilarious, and his music is amazing. He's a comedian, but also a musician (if you haven't guessed yet). Sometimes he combines the two, and other times he separates them. He has two recordings out, but they're basically impossible to find. You have to buy them, and you really should do that. So, I created this little collection of live material of his I've found.

Reggie uses a loop pedal, and his voice.. and that's it. His style is hard to really describe, but it combines soul, hip-hop, R&B, even sometimes rap.. he's just.. you gotta check him out.

I, Robot

I, Robot was an American emotive hardcore (screamo) band, and that's all I really know about them. They broke up at some point, and most of the members went on to form the not-so-great-but-kinda-alright band, Homesick for Space. I, Robot only released one album, and that was that. It's pretty awesome, though.. so your face. It just gets right into it, and doesn't really let up. The album flows together perfectly.

Where Are They Now?
Aside from Homesick for Space, that's about it.

Faraquet

Faraquet is a math rock, post-rock band from Washington D.C., USA. They formed in 1997, and take influence from bands like King Crimson, Jawbox, and Fugazi. Some place them along the lines of post-hardcore, and yeah that's understandable -- it's just a very nice combination of everything, really. The band had a good run, releasing two 7", an EP, and an LP before calling it quits in 2001.
I think this band is fucking amazing, personally. I understand why some refer to them as a "highly influential" band; they were fucking incredible. Just check them out, you fucks. >O

The band consisted of Devin Ocampo (vocals/guitar/other shit), Chad Molter (drums/backing vocals/other shit), Jeff Boswell (bass/moog).

Where Are They Now?
Good fuckin' news! The band reunited in 2007, and are still around to this day. They haven't released any new material, but have gone on tours, and are working on releasing pre-LP material. Also, Devin & Chad continued making music together; forming the band Medications.
